This is a quick and simple tutorial on creating a Japanese iTunes account for free. The whole process would take around 5 minutes!
Prerequisites
- An unused email address that is not connected to any existing Apple/iTunes account.
- Any computer or Apple device with an internet connection.
- Any internet browser. We recommend using Safari or Google Chrome.
Instructions
Step 1. Go to this link on your web browser and scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the country icon.
Step 2. Select the country Japan.
Step 3. Click on "Create your Apple ID".
Step 4. Enter your personal details, making sure not to change the Country/Region selection. Click on "Continue" at the very bottom of the page once you have finished filling out your details.
Step 5. Follow the instructions and verify your email. Once completed click on the "Next" button, which will then take you to your account page. We are now halfway through the process!
Step 6. Close the browser and open the App Store on your device. Then click on the account icon on the top right of your screen.
Step 7. Enter the account details you made in the previous steps above and then click on the "Sign In" button.
Step 8. A popup will popup on your screen, click on the "Review" button.
Step 9. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and then click on the "Next" button.
Step 10. For the payment method, "None" should be preselected for you, keep it like that and proceed to fill in the form with your name and a Japanese address. You can use this address (Tokyo Dome Hotel):
Street: 1 Chome-3-61 Koraku
City: Bunkyo City
Prefecture: Tokyo
Zip: 112-8562
Phone: 03 580-52111
Once done, click on the "Next" button at the top of your screen.

Not sure when this was updated, but now when filling out the Apple ID, it wants a phone number instead of security questions before it lets you create an ID. Any way to do this?
